Out of season breeding ?

I did not want to ask in the other thread but if I read it right

"While LaManchas are more likely to breed out of season than the Alpine breeds, they are less likely to than Nubians and Pygmies"

Can I still possibly breed a Nubian whom I suspect is not pregnant? I have been thinking of putting her in with the buck when his current girlfrined goes home but unsure as to whether it would work or not.

If she takes that would give me milk for sure this winter.

It won't hurt to put her in with him. Being near him may help her to cycle.

We just had a Nubian bred 2 days ago - she was most certainly in cycle too. We're in northeast AL

Pygmies & Nigerians are year around breeders & I think some Nubians will breed year around too.
Never had Alpines or LaMancha's so I'm not sure about those breeds.

If you want too, you can help her cycle along with a CIDR. They are less than $15 each.

My Nubians have bred every season of the year, even mid-summer. I think it helps to put the buck with the doe for a day and take him out. Then, often, she will cycle the next week, and you put them back together.
