Thinning down my herd....

I have made the decision to thin down my herd and move in a different direction. I currently have lots of wethers that I pack with, but only a few does. Well, financially it does not make since to keep non-breeding animals, so I am going to sell the wethers and buy some does that can be multipurpose (breeder, milker, packer). Its going to be hard to sell my boys though....

~smiles~ I wish you were closer. DH was just mentioning today how he wished we had some large breed wethers he could train as cart goats.

Good luck!

I've got a young wether I'm training to be a cart goat and a companion doe for him. I've been thinking how nice it would be to have a second wether as I've discovered one must have goats in odd numbers.
Too bad you're clear across the country.
Best of luck finding good homes for your boys! Have you advertised here http://www.packgoatforum.com/index.php

Is this true? I thought it was in increments of 5, which meant that before Brie kidded, I needed 3 more goats and, well, Mardi is looking like she is going to go....but I won't know how many goats I need until she does....

But there is no way she has LESS than twins...she is a battleship. If it just odd numbers, and she has twins, DH can say I only need ONE more goat.....but if it is increments of five, then I will need FOUR more goats.

Help me out here, I need an enabler.

Oh, yes, ma'am, increments of 5, just like in decorating.
