water breaking question (not my goat)

My goats half sister is in labor and the owner has popped off and on facebook so i am only getting some glimmers of information. But it seems that the water bag came out and broke already and that time has passed. Not sure how much time but more than a hour I reckon. they are first timers on the goat kidding front but said they did their research. But their answers seem to be in confirming labor (like dilated pupils) as opposed to worrying about presentation and such. SHe was asked about if they were prepared to go in and their answer was that they did not feel they would need to help any because shes not a FF. (this is her 2nd freshening) Well, I am trying to get ahold of her because if that water bag broke hours ago IMO they need to check presentation.. or am i wrong? How long would you wait after the bag has broken before checking?

YEs she needs to be checked. NOW. There may be a malpresentation. Had a
2nd timer do that just last week. Big bubble no action waited an hr. Breech kid DOA. He was tough to pull. Others 2kids fine.

I have no ability to contact them as I do not have her phone number. Just her mom keeps updating facebook and I have relied my concerns to her (mom as in grandma age) the woman and her two daughters are the ones who own the goat. Well, they updated the status to say they are going to bed and will be setting an alarm to go out and check on her in the middle of the night. Obviously i am distressed worrying! which is funny cause its not my goat LOL. BUT! I am going to hope/pray that they were wrong and that they did not see the water break. Maybe one of the girls just thought the water broke because she urinated or something. the girl is 10- so its possible right? anyways. I hope that they were just wrong that she was in labor and that everything is going to turn out great for them! will update when i can

I had a doe this year that was like that. Her bag broke early in the morning and she didn't have kids until after dark. She had a hard labor, but kids came correctly and healthy.

well apparently her doe wasn't/isn't even in labor. The next afternoon when her doe still hadn't kidded a friend came over who was very familiar with goats and checked her and her ligaments aren't even gone :P Apparently they were just going by her "dilated pupils" and acting uncomfortable. Ahh I remember my first goat kidding. I sat out all night with a goat who wasn't really in labor either lol
