Question copper bolusing mixture question

We're going to copper bolus all the girls today. What can I put in the "gun" to make it taste better to the goat? I've heard water, molasses, peanut butter, corn syrup, etc. What works for those that have done it? I need something I can sink this capsule into and drench with that they'll swallow right away and not chew. Ideas?

I have used both peanut butter and marshmallow cream with varying degrees of success.

Blackberry jam worked well one year.

We usually put the bolus in a glob of peanut butter in the end of the gun. However we tried something new with a couple of goats. Two goats got the normal bolus and two got the new way. If the results are comaprable, going to give it a bit longer to see how it turns out, then I will post more about the other way I tried.

Mardi Gras thinks both honey and corn syrup is TOO darn sticky. It makes her do funny things with her mouth.

Brie will eat ANYTHING without a fuss as long as it is sandwiched between two pieces of bread. You don't even have to use a gun on her...she just swallows it whole.

Brie, however, also thinks honey and corn syrup are too darn sticky, and it makes her make funny faces and curl her lips.

ROTFL Hmmmmm

Well, our goats will commit murder for cow treats (stocker pellets)
I thought about breaking one into small pieces, drilling a hole in the middle and dropping the bolus down in there, but seems like a lot of work.

No matter *what* brilliant human solution we come up with, ONE goat will gag and sling her head, and the bolus will hit the wall or you will hear it grinding.

One of those goat rules.
