Talking New baby doeling!

Our LaMancha/Oberhasli cross doe had her first little baby tonight. A beautiful little doeling we named Victoria. Unfortunately, mama doesn't want to let down milk, so we had to supplement her colostrum with bagged colostrum. We'll try again in the morning. Mama was pretty keyed up tonight. Victoria is resting quietly in here in a crate.
Sorry no pictures. My youngest boy spilt chocolate milk on my camera. Sigh.

Unfortunately it has to go to the camera shop and be broke down and parts replaced. Sigh. *grumble grumble*

Congrats on the new little doeling! I think 6e & minelson, you should get those disposable cameras just for now till the good cameras are fixed! Never know when it's time for Important pictures!

Congratulations! That is a beautiful name!

What breed is Victoria's sire?

Hope her momma is doing better this morning.

Her sire was a LaMancha also. The mama is LaMancha/Oberhasli cross. She let out a little bit more milk, but her udder is pretty congested I think. Feels really full and tight, but not letting hardly any of it down. She's a lot calmer though this morning and ran right to the stand and jumped right up. Only thing funny is when I'm milking she holds that hind leg way up in the air like a male dog peeing on a fence post. LOL She's doing good, just needs to get all the hormones out of the way and let the milk down. I desperately need Bo-Se though and can't find it. The nearby vet just isn't all that cooperative on giving out prescriptions. I'm headed to another vet and see if they'll do it.

Congrats on the new doeling! Since you don't have a camera (although I agree one of those disposables might be in order here, lol) you have to give us a really good discription of her. Size, color, any white, what kind of ears, etc. I like the name too.

Well....honestly she has the coloring of an Oberhasli with gopher ears and a white spot in her arm pit and what's really funny is she has a white muzzle so that she's the spitting image of a mule....without the ears. ROTFL
