Cydectin withdraw time

I followed the links Alice has placed many times but the info was confusing.

Whats the difference between Quest/Cydectin & Cydectin drench.
The drench withdrawel time states NA on the link I followed, now by drench is that mean pour-on as the bottle states.
Heres the link I followed that Alice had provided in a different thread, or it may have been on DGI I found it.

I am just wondering when milk is safe to consume after drenchng cydectin.

Cydectin is a dairy cattle wormer. I know there is conflicting info, but we don't dump (the label says no withhold time if used according to label directions--which we DON'T follow). Quest is much much more concentrated (designed for horses) and I wouldn't use it unless you are absolutely positive on weight and dosage (for fear of overdose).

I use cattle pour-on orally. If I wanted to use sheep drench I would do the math and be sure the dosage is correct for goats.

Just looked it up and pour-on has 5 mg per ml and sheep has 1 mg per ml. You'd have to give 5x as much to get the same amount of drug.

I was just looking up quest gel, I realize it is a stronger concentration, but that means less to have to drench. My horse friends tell me its fairly easy with the gel. They just wipe it in the inside of the mouth. Any thoughts on this.

It has 20 mg /mL so you would use 1 cc per about 88 pounds.

Very little, easy to majorly overdose and if they spit at all, how much of it did they lose?

I wouldn't recommend to do it. I've always had pour-on available and haven't wanted to change. I'd rather give 7-8cc's safely than to worry about tiny amounts, but that's just me. If you do use it, you must draw it up into a small syringe to dose, not out of the tube.
