Babies died - now what for mom?

Both of our goats babies have died (long sad story and I feel horrible about it). They were born to their mom a week ago. What should I do now if we don't want the milk? Do I need to do anything to relieve mom, or should I just let her dry up?

What kind of goats? I am not sure about meat breeds but most dairy breed does are going to need to be milked some. Just milk them out about halfway. That will relieve the pressure and tell their bodies they don't need all that milk.

You're welcome. I am sorry you lost the babies., I hope the mommas dry of fairly well for you although it may take some time. You will probably have to milk a some off a couple times a day for a bit. Gradually taking less and less so that her body can adjust to the fact that she doesn't need to produce milk.
