My Turn!

Yea! It was my turn today. my 2 year old 7/8 Nubian (Luna) bred to a full Saanen had twins today.

A little doe first...stuck... and I had to pull. It was actually a lot of work, more than I have ever had to do. I even called the vet as she was just not stretching for this baby. She is a FF as well. Finally, she slipped out after quite a struggle, I think Luna even sighed in relief! I also had to swing this one, she was not breathing and I was not sure she would come around, but she did. She then had a text book delivery of a little buckling.

Chica and Chico, (we stick with a hispanic theme on the goats). Both have had some suckling and are snug under a heat lamp with Mama. :happy0035:Now for me to get warmed up in the hot tub! here is a pretty bad picture, I will do better later.

Congratulations on the new twins! They always look so much better when they are good & dry but awfully nice to see them brand spanking new too!

Here is a much better picture of them. A friend took this cute picture and it sounds like she will be taking the buckling when he is ready. I am still working on unfolding the little long ears. Might have to do the splint.

and now to run back out and make sure they are eating well. Then the hubby is taking me to the diner for supper( he doesn't know it just yet...tee hee!)

This is my first time around with Saanens. I have had, Nubians, Alpines, Toggenburgs, and LaManchas.

Luna is doing well and I am proud of her as a FF. She is being an absolute wonderful Momma. She snorted and charged my poor little corgi (Lacey) when Lacey decided she wanted those babies. Luna emphatically stated, "I think NOT!" Poor Lacey, now I will have to go buy her a little baby to cuddle with (stuffed that is!).

I noticed the babies had messy meconium bottoms this am so I will be out there cleaning them up, apparently Momma is not interested in doing that.
