Buck behavior

Wondering if anyone could tell me what bucks are thinking and what their actions mean?
For instance, the blubbering with a little push of the head, is that aggressive when done towards me?
When they stand on hind legs like they want to charge me, is that play or aggression? He does not come after me but I feel like it is him trying to be intimidating. He will push with his horns and occasionally hit my hand. I don't go around him without something in my hand. He does back off when I yell at him.
What are the signs of aggression in bucks? He is Pygmy.
Any other hints on buck behavior would be appreciated.
Thanks, Alyce

He is trying to show dominance. My suggestion. Throw him on the ground and sit on him next time he rears like that. If that doesn't work, a hickory stick across the bridge of his nose a few times, when he rears. Don't put up with that or he will hurt you some day.

I put a 175lb Nubian buck on the ground once and sat on him for a couple minutes. He never rared up at me again.

We've put our boer buck on the ground several times and he still tries to get us. Lately I've grabbed him when he makes an aggressive move and put him in a stall. He stays there until after I've feed everybody. He REALLY doesn't like being left out. I've done this 4 times now and he still tries to hook me. He's getting big, probably around 180/200lbs. I can still handle him if he acts up. If he goes after my wife, she has a cattle prod and she'll zap him. Usually though just turning it on makes a whining sound and he thinks better of it and settles down. This is another good reason for keeping the bucks and does separate. One of my upcoming chores is to reinforce an inside/outside stall in the barn to hold him. We'll get him a buddy, either a dairy buck or a wether for company. Outside of the few times he gets ornery he can be very sweet nibbling on shirt pockets and wanting a scratch. But we can't ever trust him and watch him constantly when we're in the barnyard.

Last one came at me, I grabbed his ears and dragged him to the fence where I tied him till I could go get a gun. He never came at me again. .22 bullet is cheaper than a trip to the ER.
