When Moon Beam got attacked by a Huskey on Thanksgiving, he blew out her udder, tore it up really bad on the right side. Every time I think of it I want to shoot that dog again!! Makes me so angry!! Anyways, it was a challenge, and when it was at the point of a huge scab, I started using Hypericum, and Calendula cream. Both homeopathics are exclusively for scar tissue, and repairing tissues. I also used arnica for the tissue damage all three of these worked wonders. The cream would thin out the scab..I don't know much of western medicine for treating scabs and skin, but I am sure there is something out there.
BTW, she looks really really good!! Keep up the great work!!

Oh My gosh! Those 1st few pictures look awful, looks like your doing a really good job with her. I bet she's feeling a whole lot better too now.

So can you refresh my memory, did you actually ever figure out what caused your doe to get like that?

I think it must have been a combo of how swollen the teats were and small tears from the swelling and then scalding from amniotic fluid - maybe the babies were dead in utero and made the fluid toxic? ? ?

Looking really good! What a great job! And give your goat a special treat from all of us. That is incredible that they can get that bad, and still be milked, and still heal, AND still love us.

I bought Berts Bees Oil and have been putting it on and I think the scab will come off in the next few days - can't wait to post that pic!
