Smile Copper Bolus...I did it!

I finally did it! Gretta is looking kinda dull this year and I think all 3 have fishy tails so I thought I would try the scary dreaded copper bolus on them. Got my bolus from Cannon (thank you!) and I got a pill gun thingy that Kim recommended (thank you!). I tied them up to the wall and straddled them and forced their mouth open and got the thing way back there and hit the plunger. Gretta was first..first 2 tries she spit out. 3rd try she got it but I heard crunching noises. Frankie next...he didn't get any out but I did hear some crunching UGH! Flossie, being the total perfect little princess that she is , did it perfect...no crunching. Sooooo I don't know if the other 2 will benefit or not but I hope so. Then they got some treats and lots of lovin. They didn't hold a grudge Then I was off to de-worm the horses...that was much easier! Probably because I have done it so many times. I'm sure the bolus will become easier with practice.

W00T! Yay! In a week or less, your goats are gonna FEEL the difference and you are gonna SEE the difference!

You'll be SO glad you are doing this now.

~high fives and hugs!~

Crunching won't do much damage. Try chomping down on those things. YUK! They don't break.

Congratulations! You did a good job & it wasn't so scarey after you did it I bet. I always worry when I'm giving copper, medications, etc. that it'll go down the wrong pipe but so far so good.
