Need advice, Doe has

Our new doe mom has a small area right above her hoof about the size of say, hmm, maybe a C-sized battery ...

She is inching and has pulled off the hair in that area ... I can not see any bugs ... but my sight isn't as good as it once was ...

I was going to worm her today w/ a dose of Cydectin pour-on orally at 1 cc per #25.

But, Since she has this small sore ( I'm thinking maybe she has lice) should I give her Ivermec Injectible,
Given orally instead of the Cydectin? If so, at what dosage?

Other option I was thinking was to go ahead w/ the oral Cydectin and treat her small sore locally w/ diatomaceous earth.

Keep in mind she has a 1week old doeling that she is nursing.

I am greatful for any advice

Thanks ... Paul

I would put some 7% iodine on it since it is a small area. That stuff will kill anything pathogenic or any mites.

Can you take a picture of the area for us to see & post it here? One of my bucks has mites right now & am going to treat him with Ivermectin plus injectable but the directions on a link Laverne gave me it says to do SQ. I imagine the oral dose would work too but probly not as quickly.

I have used Ivermectin horse paste on an old buck we had a few years ago that got mites, it was just a small area when I noticed it. I had to rub the ivermectin on it daily though for about 2 weeks. I also use the M-T-G on it from TSC.

Laverne, after I washed my bucks legs the other day to get any crusty stuff off I sprayed his legs with the Triodine 7, I'm guessing I should still do the Ivermectin Plus injectable as well?

I have used it on ringworm and it kills it out but takes a few treatments. I don't think it would hurt to try the Triodine. I don't think a mite could live through that stuff. Could he possibly have a fungus infection? Does he get mud on his legs and scrotum?

Nope no mud here, You can hardly see any ground at all here right now because of all the snow.

I'm pretty sure it's mites, looks just like when my old buck had them & it gets crusty stuff on the area.
At the time my old buck had them I posted pictures then & that was the concensous of everyone then.
