Frustrated
I purchase a pretty little yellow spotted Nubian doe 2 years ago. In spite of running with the buck constantly since she was 10 months old, she's never kidded. Today, I contacted the breeder I purchased her from, and explained the situation. The immediate response was, "There's something wrong with your soil", "Don't give copper! It will kill your goats!", "Don't give Bo-Se except when there is a real problem! It's toxic!" She also kept insisting that I have a parasite problem inspite of my description of fecals done and worming accordingly.
Ok, so, I can have my soil tested. No biggie. But, how would my soil keep this doe from coming in season? All my other does bred and produced kids this year.
So, I called 2 goat experts that told me I was doing everything right. I'm so frustrated right now. I don't know what to do. I could eat her, but she's and awful expensive goat to eat!

Sounds to me like the person you bought the doe from is an ignoramus when it comes to goats. That's one thing.
Second, have you checked to make sure the doe is actually a doe and not a hermaphrodite? Might be worth a vet check to make sure the internal parts are actually all there. Sometimes the external parts look normal but the internal parts aren't.
If your other does are kidding and doing fine, I would say that the problem has to be with the doe. However, after two years, you probably aren't going to get very far with holding the breeder responsible for your loss. It may have been something they couldn't detect (even if they do sound ignorant of basic facts about goats). Unless they offered some kind of breedability warranty, I'm afraid you are out the money you've put into this doe.

If the buck she's been with is proven and parasites and such are ruled out and your doing the right things like giving Bo-Se, copper ect. ect and still have no results after 2 years of care and food, I'd eat her. Expensive yes, but even more expensive to keep caring for her with no return.
Is there any chance she could be a hermaphrodite?

The only Nubian I ever had also never successfully bred unless we induced her heat cycles with hormones.

I've tried that too without any signs of heat. I think I'll take her in for a pregnancy test, just to be safe. If it's negative, then I'll butcher her. I really hate to, but don't know what else to do.
LoneStrChic, I have considered the possibility that she may be a hemaphrodite. She looks normal on the outside, but I butcherd a "doe" last year that looked normal on the outside but was a hemaphrodite internally,

Sounds like you may have gotten another hermaphrodite which will be a real expesive bummer it sounds like. Too bad the breeder wasn't more sympathetic & try to understand you were just looking for answers not your money back after 2 years. Some folks are just ignorant, wonder how many people actually buy from that breeder & are unhappy with their goats later on for whatever reasons.

I have had problems with cow fertility based on the minerals I was giving. Maybe that's what she meant by something wrong with the soil. The Nubians I never seem to have a problem with though.

Will a hermaphrodite come into heat at all?

I'd have her checked out by my vet, especially since the other does are kidding OK.

Occasionally some does are freemartins. They are more common in cattle but I have had two does that were...both with male twin brothers.
You are going to have to get a vet check if you have a refund or a replacement, and then you will have to go through ADGA to get it. I had a similar issue with a buck that had such a low libido I could hardly get him to breed anything.
