tell me about baby monitors

My MiniMancha is as big as a barn, and for the first time, I'm thinking about getting a baby monitor.

The house is not quite 50 yds from the maternity pen.

Will the baby monitor broadcast that far?

Ours, too. I use it at the office because the office is closer to the barn than the house is. I wish the monitor reached to the house - my nights would be a lot nicer if it did.

I have the summer baby touch monitor, It reaches like 400 ft. We have it in the barn or out behind the barn, You can move the camera by touching the screen so that way i can see just about everything, and i can hear it extremely well, I had to turn it down in the middle of the night as the wind picked up, and right now I can hear the wind, the ice hitting the metal barn, the geese talking. This one was a little pricey but it was the only one that had the distance we needed as our barn isnt as close to our house. oh and the barn is metal, we got it at target. You can add 3 more cameras to it also.

We used a wireless intercom system- I just put a clamp on the 'speak' button to hold it down. Later I used it in tandem with a black and white security monitor that was also wireless. I wonder what happened to that stuff when we moved away... hmmm...
