hardened poop plug

Our 15 hour old doeling has a mustard colored gooey poop plug sticking out of her rear ... I tried rubbing it gently w/ some warm wet paper towels ... but nothing moved.

I showed to the mother but she did not cleanit off the doeling

Should I be firmer trying to remove it?

When I left them last night at 2:30am it was not there, and she has already pasted some poop at least once since I left them last night.

Those are horrible, but you do have to get it off so they can poo. I usually help moms wipe butts the first few days until that yellow sticky poop stops. If I miss one and it gets hard, I end up taking the little'un in by the sink and wet with warm water and pry and pick and wet and scrape and rub and pull. It takes forever and I do usually end up leaving them a little sore. I try not to, but sometimes it can't be helped. It's not pleasant!

Thanks April,

We got it off, we took a Q-tip with some K-Y jelly and just rubbed it gently around the yellow stuff, waited a few minutes, done it the second time , waited a few minutes, then it came off .

Thanks! Paul

Have to admit it is a pretty yellow, but it is a butt plug for sure. When I used to raise my bottle babie I would put in a 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of veg oil in their bottles to help move things along, it really helped alot.

I usually keep a little Vaseline or KY jelly on their little bums so thet it doesn't stick so tightly.
