Doe with Pregnancy Toxemia - advice please

We have a first freshening two year old LaMancha doe that has Pregnancy Toxemia. She was overweight The symptoms that she has: Sluggish, lost appetite, unsteady gait, weakness, stiffness, swollen legs, twitching, head-pressing, grunting, losing weight, laying down a lot.

We treated her around 6pm (it's 9:30 pm now) with 3 cc Vitamin B Complex, 50CC Calcium Gluconate, 50CC Magic (Corn syrup/Corn oil/Molasses). She did drink a little bit of warm water earlier.

She is due on March 5th, so we still have 14 days.

Can anyone tell me how to give the 50% Dextrose Solution?

We have called the vet but are still waiting for a call back...can anyone with experience help me out?

Thank you.

My vet had me inject 30 cc Norcalciphos twice a day and give 30-40 cc propylene glycol orally twice daily.

Great article Laverne, I've read them before but it's a good thing you put the link up here for everyone & we have quite a few new folks here too that can get alot of info there.

Thanks for the link Laverne; however, it doesn't work for me. Internet Explorer won't even pull it up.

Last night the vet came out and gave Tenacity an IV. She was quite perky last night and the vet was hopeful that in 12 hours she'd be eating again, but she isn't. If she doesn't eat by tonight then we're inducing her with Dexameth. and praying that she and the babies make it. We are willing to do a C-section and have the vet on stand by for that...our concern is that she won't be strong enough to get through the labor.

As for saving the babies: I have no way of obtaining colostrum for them...so, should I try to make some with the egg yolk, cod liver oil etc. or do the bagged version from Family Farm and Home?

Any ideas on what we can do to get her eating? She won't touch her grain or hay and only sips on the water...she did voluntarily eat yogurt an hour ago. If we can't get her eating then we're in major trouble. She seems somewhat "depressed" right now.

Pray for the vet's skill and wisdom - we're having her c-sectioned to save the babies and Lord willing her, but she's going down fast.
