Got them disbudded

I found a wonderful couple about an hour frome that has nigies, and today I took the two bucklings over and he disbudded them for me! It was good to watch someone the first time, and he said next time to come over and he would just watch me do it, and help me if I need it. Its nice to have someone to guide you through. I also talked to a vet today that told me to use injectable cydectin to worm, and to inject it. Anyone?

NO. According to Sheep and Goat Medicine, the veterinary college textbook by David Pugh, all goat dewormers are administered orally. ALL OF THEM.

Sorry.... not yelling at you. I'm just frustrated with vets that don't know goats.

Here's a link to a page that lists all the dewormers and dosages.

Please don't leave me out! I am learning too & have lots of kids due in April. I really want to learn to do the disbudding myself, but am hearing such horror stories that I'm worried. Melbertsch, what's the scoop?

Always good to have a goat friend close by that can help with things when needed for both of you. He may need you some time in the future for something as well.
