Puffy pink backside on pregnant doe

My oldest doe is three weeks from kidding. She's five years old, this is going to be her fourth kidding. A few weeks ago I noticed that her backside was pink & swollen, almost like she was going into heat (even though I was pretty sure she was pregnant).

She's filling out like she's pregnant, but her backside is still swollen. Not like "OMG is that swollen", but definately more than normal.

She's eating grain / hay like normal, hasn't been acting "off" and her temps are within normal range.

Is there some sort of vaginal infection that this could be? There is no discharge. Is it something I should take her to the vet for? She never (at least that I remember) had this the last four times she was pregnant.

Thanks for your comments / thoughts!

Sounds like what you look for when expecting signs of kidding soon.

I thought of that, but it's been over a week & she's still three weeks out. Her ligaments are still there too. I was kind'a worried that she may kid prematurely. What are the moratility rates for three week premature kids?

My pygmy is bright pink and swollen for 4 weeks now! Also started losing her plug stuff 4 weeks ago yesterday and her little hole, is staying somewhat open, and still no babies yet.

I was going to get the kidding pen ready this weekend, but I think I'll work on it this afternoon.

I just went back out there to check her ligaments & it "seems" like they may be getting smaller. Or I could just be crazy.

Those ligaments will seem to get softer, then the next AM, they'll be hard again. My white LaMancha doe is due the 28th of this month. Two mornings ago, I checked her ligs, and they were GONE. By noon they were back. I tell ya, this stuff will drive you nuts!

Tell me about being nuts too. Last week an FF started a little white goo.Brought her to pen just in case. She hadnt even dropped yet so I looked at the due dates. The earliest was yesterday & could go until March as she was with buck two different times.
This girl has never liked me, but for the first time today actually said hello when I came into barn.
