We had the fortunate opportunity to make an all-too-short visit to "Goat Servant" and to meet their wonderful "Laughing Stock". First, thank you Nancy & Bob, for your warm welcome, and for answering all of our questions. It was a treat for us to see others set-up and learn how they manage their stock,
especially during what appears to be a very busy kidding season! Within the past week or so, Laughing Stock has increased by about 9 or more kids? Poor Nancy is tuckered.
As new goat owners, a visit like this is especially helpful. We got a full tour of the buildings (including the famous "penis gallery") and even got to watch Nancy administer a dose of Probios ...and while a small exercise like this is probably old hat for most of you, for us newbies, a demonstration of even the simplest of tasks is beneficial).
I've included pics for those who can't make it over. All and all I must say, they have a whole lot of cuteness going on!
This morning, we had ground goat patties for breakfast, and I can personally testify that the goat in rut you recently butchered tasted perfectly fine with not a single trace "buckiness" to it. Simply wonderful!
Thanks Again, Goat Servant!
