what exatly do u ask for CAE/CL testing?

Ok I am working on a deal for some nigerians.
HEre is what is going on, a lady got sick and leased her goats to 3 different farms ill she got better, She is now geting orse and is selling them. Now one of the farms that has some of her goats Is where I bought a couple of my first ones. I was going to buy 2 of the goats that she is trying to sell for the sick woman but now there are some on one of the other farms that I want. Since these goats have been moved around so much Im a litle worried about anything that they could bring here I am just woundering what proof it is you ask for, so you can see the herds are CL/CAE free. I was going to ask the original owner and the farm where they have been for the past 6 months.

Some are coming from anouther state and they will have their health certs. but does that include CAE/CL or anything?

Transport certificates across state lines just are paper that I vet has looked at an animal within 30 days and it does not "look" sick. No tests have to be run, unless the state has a disease that the receiving state is free of like TB.

Ask everyone involved for CAE test results that are no more than a year old. If you think there might be a problem tell them you will put a deposit down until results come back and offer to pay for testing. Its only $4 per animal plus shipping.

CL test is neg unless there are active abscesses in the herd. I do visual checks on any herds I visit and make my decision based on that, not a test for CL.

What she said exactly. With these does, I'd test them myself unless the CAE tests were done with the last couple months.
