Organic Goat Grain

I am having a heck of a time right now. I am looking for a dairy grain that I can feed to my pregnant does and young kids (when they're born) that is organic particularly. I have read through all the others posts on hand-mixing your own grain and honestly, I am super overwhelmed. Can someone just point me into the direction of a supplier who sells organic dairy feed?

Right now I am feeding my does a mix of alfalfa pellets, BOSS, whole oats, and whole barley. They seem to be doing fine on it. But I am going to switch back over from Chaffe hay to regular alfalfa I think.

I'm getting lazy.

You might be able to find an organic supplier locally, as you are in California, but it will take some searching.

Also, be warned that our government has approved GM alfalfa.

I have a friend who farms corn, cotton, soybeans and milo. It's difficult for farmers to even obtain non-GM seed.

That's exactly what I was afraid of. The only things I can find are separate organic ingredients like barley oats and so on.

If you go to bulkfoods.com, you may be able to find what you're looking for.

I have some organic non-GMO alfalfa seed I bought two years ago (for sprouting). I'm going to try growing it this year. May pick up some non-GMO stuff now, before the market is flooded with Monsanto's Mutant junk.

No need to feel overwhelmed. If you can find barley or oats in the organics, can you find corn or black oil sunflower seeds also? I'm looking for something to add some fat.
My mix used to be simply 3 parts barley, 1 part corn. When I stopped using corn, I switched to 3 parts barley, 1 BOSS. Now that I can't get barley, I use 3 parts oats to 1 part BOSS.
It doesn't get much simpler than that when it comes to mixing your own grain.
Now, in my opinion, you really need to have your minerals and hays worked out. Thats more important than your grains.

Thank you. I am feeding oats, barley, and BOSS right now with very little alfalfa pellets. I will most likely end up just doing this the same but switching them to a free-choice alfalfa. I actually found someone here who sells it organically.
