Messin' With My Head

This morning, Trub had a teeny weeny bit of goo.

Her ligaments are oh-so-very-soft.

Every so often, she stops whatever she is doing, stares off into space, and has a contraction.

This is either day 146 or 149, depending with which breeding date one starts to count.

Did I mention that it's barely 5*F out there?

She's toying with me. I am exhausted from a poor night's sleep last night, it's bitterly cold outside, and she's playing with my head.

Many Troubles is a cruel, cruel goat.

She's doing it on purpose!

Working up those contractions & then thinking, nah, I'll wait a bit, the temp is still above zero!

Oh, I already told her.

She looked at me with a goatie gleam in her eye, as if to say, "HA! I'll jolly well do as I wish!"

Goats. <sigh>

3am is a good time. She knows you will freeze your whatnot off going out to hear her cries of labor. She thinks that if she is going to have labor pain, you are going to have 'freeze your whatnot off' pain.

Her decision is final. She will not cave to pleas, treats or whatever else you come up with.

She is a goat, remember?

See u at 3am.

Yeah, Rosie has had a little goo off and on for how many weeks now? 2, 3? And her pics made everyone else think her ligs were gone, too. She'll grab a few strands of hay, munch a bit, look into the distance and huff... Sit still for a few seconds, swivel an ear to make sure I'm holding my breath, then munch, munch, munch... Argh!!! Yep, they're goats!

I sure hope she at least waits for the daylight hours & maybe the sun will at least be shining tomarrow & what 20 degrees? Our high tomarrow I think is 16.
I am just wishing for the days to stay at even 32 degrees right now & I'd be happy!

I'll be thinking of you tonight running back & forth to the barn all night Pony, I do feel for you!

Just in for a bit, then have to head out again.

Darn it. I wish she would have waited for Thursday the earliest.

Of course, she may wait until then. LOL!

I have one that was rebred 3 weeks after the first breeding. So I've not been absolutely certain the first didn't take. So she does the "now I've dropped" "now I've not dropped" "now my ligs are gone' "now my ligs are back" "Now my bum is swollen" "now its not" for weeks! Bagged up weeks ago too. No goo yet. She really loves head games!

So I can feel for you! Hope she lets you rest some.

Won't it be nice when Biotracking has a pg test that tells you the due date?

Just got back in from another visit to the goat shed. Called Ozark Jewels to do a reality check (poor Emily! She's all tired from kidding with all her goats, and I keep her on the phone for my one and only spoiled brat goat...)

Trub is lying there, all moan-a-noaning, but no goo, no pushing... Dang! It is REALLY cold out there: -2*F.

I should be napping so I can go back out there in an hour or so.

Didn't I do this last year, and wind up not having any kids for nearly a week?

Yeah, thanks for reminding me.

She's nowhere near as big as she was last year, though, so I don't think it's quads. I hope not, anyway... 'Sides, it's Emily's turn for quads this year. :smiley-laughing013:

Now I need . I don't think she's going to do anything today; she hasn't really gotten any farther along than she was yesterday.

Chore time...

You are fine today, when I said 3am, I meant 3am tonight/tomorrow morning. So go get your coffee and watch them temps get lower and lower.

Life is So much fun with goats.

Is she rolling her eyes at you yet?
