My goat miscarried

My 9 year old Nubian cross miscarried this afternoon. I have never had one do this before so a first for us. It happened pretty quickly. I had a more experienced friend come check her and she is fine. She passed it all. I think even though her mother lived till 15 and last time was bred at 13 I think we have decided to retire her and let her be a herd auntie

Awe, glad you're turning her into auntie Nubian now.

That's so sweet :-) and hope she plans to retire, too LOL I remember a couple of animals when I was a kid that _would_ find a way to get bred because they loved being a mom... And my dad was very conscientious about breeding and those couple were the only ones I knew that outsmarted his birth control LOL

That's too bad & I am so sorry she lost her babies. Maybe there was another problem & not just age?

She is doing good. We had her penned up with the pregnant does so I could watch her close and the little bugger jumped the fence when she saw my hubby feeding the boys first. I didn't even know she could jump a fence! Must have worked up an appetite
