Finally the BLizzard is here!!!! baby pics

Ok so I am sound asleep it is 1:45am and I here a goat crying on my monitor, so I look and Molly is looking around but it isnt here neither is it muffin or zoe, I am so confused and barely awake, I figure it is one of the other ones, so I get up thinking I got to find out what is going on and then I heard it!! A sound I had never heard!! I told my husband that is a baby!!! I grabbed all my clothes the towells and sweaters and ran out to the barn. No it wasnt Muffin Zoe or Molly (all the goats in kidding pens) It was crystal in the lean too. There was a little white baby just outside the doghouse in a little snow, just born, with our GP right there looking on, I grabbed the baby went inside the barn, kicked out Molly and cleaned up the baby! Crystal is doing great really cleaning her (we think it is a girl) Only one though, we couldnt get her to nurse yet although she wants too, mom is just too busy licking her. So here are the pics minutes after she was born, she now has a nice blue dog sweater on!

just came back in at 345am...got her to nurse some and just gonna watch from my video baby monitor now in my warm bed. She is moving around and trying to nurse, i gave her a little kid paste, not much and gave mom some molasses in her water, when I get back up i will deworm mom and see what else i need to do, any other suggestions i have a ton of stuff here now, (birthing kit) so do I really need to give the baby anything else at all? Also gave mom and couple squirts of drench. doesnt feel like there is anymore in there so I guess just the one. This was the goat I just got from wintrrwolf with an approx due date of Feb 2! Right on the money. No signs of labor as of 7pm no goo no plug stuff, just started getting a little udder last sat. good night, i will get better pics in the (real) morning, lol

Congratulations! Nope I wouldn't give baby anything else, just momma's colostrum & make sure they are out of the wind. A water bottle under an old towel will help keep her warm, mine learn really quick where to snuggle & the does snuggle right next to them too.

Well, there ya go. A little white baby, right smack dab in the snow. I'd guess she heard you, (or the weather you're having) calling her name so she came!
