Spa day

Today was spa day. Everyone was dewormed, bolused with copper and had their feet trimmed. I was greatly suprised that the best behaved of the lot was my yearling buck. I tried the marshmallow thing as my pilling gun got broken (don't ask, I don't know). They hate marshmallows!! All the posts I've seen about using them tell how much the goats love them. They wouldn't even look at them, let alone eat them. I got my fingers chomped on badly by one doe, but they all got done. On top of that, I disbudded my last kid.

I had to get my girls used to marshmallows......in the beginibg they weren't very interested in them. Tootsie will only eat marshmallows in small pieces and amounts.....Keys will gorge on marshmallows if you let her. Sabrina wants nothing to do with marshmallows.

When I bolused Keys & Tootsie (mini girls), I put some in the cut up marshmallow pockets and some in tiny jam sandwiches since Tootsie wouldn't eat enough of the marshmallows to get all of the bolus in her.

Sorry about your fingers

I've gone one snooty doe who won't eat peanut butter crackers, either, much less marshmallows. She's a Dorito girl!

Mine don't like marshmellows either but love peanut butter crackers, all but 1 doe she won't eat any kind of snack at all & I've tried everything on her. Everyone else, including the boys will eat just about anything I bring for a treat. I figured the one would just have to grow into it but she's a year old & still nothing!

I thought I was the only who called it Goat Spa day! I spend the entire day complaining that no one will trim MY toenails! LOL!

Mine won't touch the marshmallows either for the most part. I do have one doe that will happily eat the marshmallows you cram in her mouth, but will not take a marshmallow for love or money! Oh well weird animals!
