Unhappy Pinkeye in goats?

I have a doe that I noticed when I went out this morning, both eyes are swollen, slightly cloudy, weepy and icky. I'm guessing it's pinkeye, although I have no clue how she got it except maybe by the hay.
I called our vet and the answer I got was, "Well, we don't really deal with goats, so I don't know what to give you". I told them that terramycin eye ointment would work, but they don't have any of that.
Any idea where i can find some? Or is there another treatment I can use that's readily available? Sigh

Terramycin eye ointment is available at my feed store, maybe it is at yours? A tiny tube was over $10 tho If you cannot get ahold of it, Neosporin would work as well.
Pink eye is very contageous so I would keep her away from the other goats, wash your hands well, etc. You can also give her a shot of Biomycin for the next few days. I do not like LA 200 since it stings like heck and does not seem that effective to me.

Thank you! I did call Atwoods and they did have it. $18 for a small tube! Eeeks. But if that's what it takes. I have LA 200 and I have Penicillin. I don't have Biomycin, but I will look for it when I go to Atwoods.

I have used the Today brand mastitis treatment, a little squirt of it in the infected eye. This idea was recommended to me by a long time dairy goat farmer and it worked extremely well. You can buy it at tractor supply or any feed store. You can get it by the case or by the tube and is a lot cheaper than the 18 dollars mentioned earlier. Within three days of this treatment the pinkeye was completely gone, and improvement was shown within hours of the first treatment. Just my two cents and good luck

What I found works is the oxytetracycline injections (LA 200 etc). I was also putting off brand NO PAIN neosporin in their eyes, with no change. The only thing that seemed to help was the injections.

I have found that the Terramycin ointment doesn't work all that great nor does the NFZ puffer. I use Tetracycline (LA200, Biomicen all the same stuff) with the best results. I inject it per the label and also put a drop or two in each eye and it clears right up.

We had goats for several years and our go for treatment was Nuflor. It is a prescription med, was 8.00 for a shot. It worked great, took care of pinkeye, hoof rot, well any problem we had.

I second the NuFlor if you have it on hand. It is pricy, but works wonders.
