Oh my gosh, that's adorable. What's the story behind this? Did the mama goat die? Did the dog lose its puppies?

These are some of the bottle babies that I got from kshobbit. So, they actually get bottles and just got done being fed. The dog? That's April. She was spayed actually last summer. LOL She just has a strong mothering instinct. That goat wasn't getting anything, but I guess it was comforting to him cause he sucked on it for a long time. I was sitting there thinking, "Ohhh that goat is gonna get bit" but April just stood there. She follows them around and cleans their bottoms and lets them "nurse". LOL She tries to play with them, but she's a tad rough. She sort of flattens them to the floor. LOL

Ours is a Golden Retriever, Sadie.

This was a Nigerian Dwarf kid that didn't survive, sadly. When I came home with a bottle baby (the doe in my avatar), you should have seen Sadie's face - "oh, can I have it, please, please, please?"

She's also nursed a bottle lamb.

Love it! Pitties can be surprisingly patient and put up with a lot of pain.

What a kick..yea..hide your children from that mean ol dog...
She is a wonderful mama!!

We had a Dachshund that nursed kittens, she even went so far as to find a baby field mouse the cat brought home, took it from the cat, and yes, was trying to nurse it!! Poor little mouse did not live, but 'Muffin"sure loved that mouse!!
Aren't animals awesome!!

Well, I have to brag on my Allison, even if she is a goat. She is a Saanen, last year lost her first babies, premature twins. I put a bottle baby in with her and she took him right in. This year, she had a very nice big buckling, which got squashed by a hay bale. He was a few days old. After a few more days, I got several bottle babies to feed after milking her. This was getting old, so I let them try it themselves. She wasn't thrilled, but if on the milkstand she would tolerate them. This morning her bag was nice and loose, the babies full and sassy. YEAH!
I'm thinking she's a keeper.
