Fence Chargers

I know it's been mentioned before but I was hoping to get some advice on what "size" charger that you "goat" people recommended. We've tried several on the cheaper end but by this spring, I should have completed our new fence and want to run a few strands of hot wire to keep the goats from trying to go thru the barbed wire (I know the whole barbed wire debate but it's what I was able to get cheaper at the time and it's half up). I just wanted to know what joules you would get

Thanks for the help

The more the better.

I've never heard anyone say "I wish my fence was weaker"

I wouldn't go less than 3 Joules, depending on how much wire you're charging

ParMak is one of the best chargers for the money and the 3 strongest ones will all do the job

It won't do any real damage or cause injuries unless they get tangled up in it, but it does "hurt" them for an instant.

It only takes one or two times before they learn to respect the wires and keep their distance

In a good pulsating charger, the current only lasts 1/10th of a second, and pulses once every second
