New Babies! Elf Ears!

Helen, my unregistered ND doe had two bucklings around noon today. Their sire is a triple-registered MiniMancha buck, Quirky Goat Farms Gibbs. I LOVE the babies' coloring.

Both the boys wanted to be born head-first, head-only! I had to scrounge around for legs, and then all went well. After an hour or so, I went to milk some extra colostrum from mama, but those boys had already flattened the udder! I can see they're going to grow like champs.

Both have elf ears and one has wattles.

Congrats on two healthy babies!

So, you can breed mini bucks to ND does? Good to know - I've been wanting some mini-Manchas

I wish they were girls, too, Alice! Gibbs is the daddy, but they have Happy's coloring - LOUD. The doeling born the other day is JD's, but has Gibbs' coloring. Is that a raft of genes, or what? LOL!

I have more, registerable mini manchas coming this spring. Can't WAIT.

Gibb's mom has kidded twice, and she's due in March.

Her kid count is four bucklings, and one non-breedable doeling.

I hope she corrects that this year.
