You might consider some Valbazen to give Momma right after the birth.

You sound very excited.

I do not use the gloves, I cannot tell what I am feeling with them on. Also the uterus is self cleaning as long as your hands are clean no need to worry or use antibiotics if you go it. Had gloves on and thought I was feeling hooves took then off and realized it was hip bones.

I never used a kid puller, or a snare I use my hands

I do not use clamps either, I leave the cord alone, if it needs I tie it with dental floss. Too many ways to get caught, or have mom pull off a clamp.

I do have Vit E gel caps, I stick a needle it in and squeeze it into newborns mouths. I just buy the ones they have in the store for human use.

Make sure the jammies or coats have areas for them to pee and poop without it getting wet.

Is your Sel/Vit E- Bo-Se?

You doe/does will wait till it is the coldest nastiest darn day to give birth. They like for you to freeze your butt off and have to work hard to keep the kids warm.

Well I hope I dont have to use the kid puller or snare, but it was cheap so thought I would have it on hand just in case. i dont no about the clamps either it was just another cheap just in case
I havent gotten the sel/vet E yet, but apparently you can only get the bo se from vet So I dont know what I am going to do yet.
I only got the jammies cause like you said they will of course have them at 0 degrees ,

You will want to worm the mom with Cydectin (valbazen too if tapes are an issue) immediately after kidding. I personally don't worm adults for tapes unless I see them in the poo - I haven't in a years.

You will want Corid on hand for cocci prevention, as well as Valbazen for tapes. You may want to cydectin the babies if your babies are in with your adults.

I have the 300 ml dispenser gun and I get CMPK gel, the energy gels, and vitamin ADE+B12 gels. I give the energy one and the probiotics to the babies at birth - a big dab on the finger swiped through the mouth. Momma gets all of them pre kidding (when I notice her in labor) and after kidding.

I BoSe my kids at birth (1/4cc for minis, 1/2cc for full size) and my does are on a 4x per year schedule with Copper boluses. I've been considering the paste for giving to does a couple weeks before they're due.

If you didn't CDT the does a month before they kid, you'll want to CDT the kids earlier - I did 3,6,and 9 weeks for kids from does I didn't know the status of the dams at purchase or those I had forgotten to vacc. My normal schedule is 4 and 8 weeks, from vaccinated dams.

I also hate the OB gloves, and snare didn't work well. As for antibiotics after going 'in' I have a small number of goats so I can keep a close eye on everybody. I don't antibiotic unless I have to, generally. Though I get some weird looks from friends/family when I smell doe's rear ends after kidding - I'm smelling for the rotten smell that would mean infection.

I do suggest the powder lube or some plain KY jelly. It really helps for troublesome kiddings.

Alot of the things you got you hopefully will not need & all will go smoothly. I do about exactly the same as thaiblue12.

I worm momma the day of kidding after the kids get a few good drinks & again 10 days later. I do not worm my kids until older. Here I don't put anything in newborns mouths except for the Vit E liquid & momma colustrum & her milk.

Good luck, it sounds like your already & just waiting! When's the first one due?

I know I just was trying to get everything that everyone uses, so that I can see what works best for me. Last april when we got the babies that were 2 weeks old, they got weak and sick and I had to do all kinds of things, and kept running to the store for something, so now I have about everything i should need. Now I just need some babies. It is supposed to snow tomorrow evening 2-5 inches then drop below 0! I have an igloo that has two heated pads in it that I got from someone on CL, so that should really keep them warm if they come when it is cold.
If two does kid around the same time, can you put them in the same area, will they share the babies or know which are thiers. Will they be mean to the ones that arent theirs? We have had cats that end up sharing the momma position with thier babies.
