Well, this was not a kidding I would like to experience again. I went down with my birthing kit when I saw her standing with her head against the wall. By the time I got there, she was laying down and two little hooves were out. She pushed a couple times with no progress, so I went in. The kid was breech and had another in the canal with it. I pushed the one back and was able to deliver a little buck. He was dead. Next came another little buck, very much alive. The next one was stuck, so in I go again. This one was also breech, but not feet first, butt first. I was able to push it back in and turn it around without too much difficulty, but it was also born dead - a little doe. The two that were dead have the most striking white markings on them. The one that lived is brown with a white topknot. I'll post pics once I get this little guy settled.

That's too bad she had 2 dead one's & such a hard delivery! I hate that, we lost a doe last year because the first baby was breach(butt first) & I couldn't get ahold of the legs, Nigerian dwarf & neither dh & I could get in to help. Wished I had human kids at that point. So glad you were there & able to help her!

One reason I have Nubians! I have large hands. I couldn't do much with a small goat either!

She seems to be doing ok. She stood for me to milk her, but it took a bit of effort for her to get up. I thinks she's just very tired. I'm keeping a close eye on her for excessively bloody goo and the like. She's had antibiotics since I went in, and had BoSe a couple of days ago. She didn't want her molasses water, but I'll try again in a little bit.

Oh I'm so sorry. You've had a rough kidding season. He's a cute little guy though.

oh no! That's so sad. But the little guy looks great! And I'm glad mama is doing ok. Better than doing bad anyway. I sure hope she bounces back quick.

I always give mine after kidding, etc. the homemade electrolyte water. They all seem to love it & drink it right down.
It's 1 liter of warm water
2 Tbsp. of honey or sugar
1/4 tsp. of salt
1/4 tsp. of Baking soda.
See if she'll drink that instead of the molasses water.
The little buckling sure is a little doll.

I am so sorry you lost two of the kids, and that Ice Cream had such a rough delivery.
Your little red guy is a doll-baby, though.
