Broken Fence

Darn trees, darn bucks, darn dogs did a number on my buck pen.

It really was a combination of all of the above. It was put up about 10 years ago & the fence poles were rotting. Should have replaced them before the cold weather. At least the ground isn't frozen yet. 8 poles total just fell over. By some miracle my 2 lgd''s stayed with the goats. We're not sure if there was a predator & the dogs hit the fence hard, or if it was just coincidence & it was teetering & a branch finished it off. Either way I guess we'll be busy this weekend.

Sooooo, at least the fence broke on the external side towards my neighbors woods. at 5:30 we were combining the bucks in the large pasture (2 escapees are supposed to be in the buck there until they grow some), combining lgd's, and hoping the escapees won't find a way in to the young unbred does or I'll be luting them.

Never ends. These boys are heck on the fences. We finally got a nice telephone pole fence up along the does pen....looks like the boys pen needs the poles only the backhoe won't maneuver over there.

Sigh. Now I have to listen to hubby complain about my boys....

Hope you get your new poles up real soon. Just let hubby in one ear & right on out the other side. It makes them feel good to complain sometimes I think!

You might just let him know, the more he complains, the less you feel like cooking for him.
