My boys are coming back

I sold 3 wethers as pets to the same family last year. Bosco, Keebler, and Mouse. Bosco is a mini-Alpine, Keebler is a mini-mancha, Mouse is full ND. All very sweet boys.
This morning I got a phone call fromk the girl saying that they have to put Bosco to sleep as he slipped while running down the hill the other day and appherantly broke his back as his rear legs are paralyzed. She's waiting for the vet to come out right now to put him down. They have him in a sling and he's eating and acting fine, just can't move his back legs at all. Poor Bosco, but it's better for him but I'm so sad for him anyway. He was the most affectionate of the three.
She told me that her husband is getting a kidney transplant as well and she doesn't have the time to care for the boys anymore and asked me if I'd take them back. They've not been exposed to any other goats or cattle so it looks like two of my boys will be coming back home in a day or two.
My buck needs pen mates anyway even though he's right next to the girls, I think he'll like the company to rough-house with.
They're still getting quarantined for a few weeks first.
Welcome home boys!

Rest in peace little Bosco. Run through rainbow pastures.

So sad about Bosco (isn't "bosco" Italian for "friend"?) He looks like he was a real cutie-patootie.

But how nice that the woman called you to ask if you'd take the boys back.

Welcome home, Fellas!

Happened all at once, she saw him fall and that was it.

I don't know about that, I named him after the chocolate drink syrup from years gone by.
Yes, that was very decent of her and I'll make sure she knows how much I appreciate the consideration. I told her I couldn't buy them back but I would give her gas money to bring them. Wish I could though, I'm sure they could use it with the med bills they must have. Can I ask for prayers for them?

I always want wethers too but DH put his foot down, he doesn't want to just feed a bunch of wethers he says. If I ever decide not to breed my girls anymore or wanted to just keep a couple goats, the wethers would be the one's I'd keep just for pets.

A little update. Bosco was put to sleep on Saturday, vet confrimed that his back was broken. RIP Bosco.
They haven't been able to bring the boys yet as they have many family medical issues going on. So we are going to meet part half way next week and I'll bring them home.
What a week this one's been already; took 2 does to be bred on Saturday, have to go pick one of them up this Friday, made a big dinner for relatives yesterday, have to deliver a doeling to new owners tomorrow and get hay, Saturday someone is coming to get ducks. Then next week pick up boys and get another load of hay, and take remaining ducks to butcher. And I have a fridge full of milk and need to make some cheese, or butter, or soap, or all of the above! I'm already whipped thinking about it. I need a clone.
