Doe drying up
I've posted about my First Freshener who lost her kid on another post. So I've been milking her because I've been waiting to have another doe in milk so that I can have fresh milk again. Problem is, that she had a lot of milk the first time I milked her, probably a quart and a half (if that's alot). But the last two times, she barely had MAYBE 1/4 cup, and it's less each time. Is there anything I can do to increase this? I've put her on a 20% protein pellet, beet pulp, and alphalfa pellets, with sweet feed. But is there anything else I can do to get her milk up? It seems like she has some REALLY nice milk, and I HATE to lose her in milk all these months. She's the only doe in milk I have, and the only one I can even get to let me near her teats right now.
TIA for any help, it's appreciated!
