Last Batch!

My last doe kidded Friday of last week, in the middle of the night! She had triplets - two bucklings and a doeling. I have to admit that I was hoping for more does from her, because I knew I wanted to keep one from her, because of her age (she will be 8 next year). Options would have been nice! Ah, well. I'm still pretty pleased.

I ended up having to bottle feed the runt, who was a buckling. He would not - no matter what we did or how hard we tried - take the teat. He wasn't too weak, I guess he just didn't "get" it. That, or his mouth might have been too small to grab hold. We stayed up until four am trying with him. We ended up milking out some colostrum to give to him in a syringe, and left him for a few hours to see if nature would help him along. It didn't. So, he's on the bottle for good I guess...he's probably also going to be here for good. Both myself and my parents have gotten terribly attached during the process.

Sorry for rambling! Here are the pictures!

Thanks!

Their tentative names are Ringo (the boy who has the belt around his stomach), Coraline, and Wybie. I had the hardest time thinking of names for the last two, but my mom suggested Ringo as soon as she saw him, and it just stuck.

I would have named that bottle boy "Skunk." hehe
I was going to say that the nice thing about getting one on a bottle is that you can sell him soon.

They are all so Beautiful! The last picture of Ringo looks like he's already got the bucky thing going with his tongue! Hehehehe! He'll be a quick learning it looks like.

Hah, he does have a little bit of a skunk pattern!

I didn't even think about that, haha. It didn't take long for me to get too attached, though. I've never had a bottle-baby of any species before. The adorableness is overpowering. =3

Haha, he does! Wybie already has his "Elvis lip-curl" down pat. He sniffed my foot the other day and curled his lip! Haha. It was really funny. I'm not sure what that is saying about the state of my feet, however....
