Fox never saw THAT coming

There's a mother fox that's been denning on our back hill for 4 maybe 5 years. We kinda like to see the pups play, and they (for the most part) don't bother the animals though any duck outside the lgd protection is a dead duck.
One youngster thought he'd try for the ducks inside the doe pen, he didn't make it, that particular day there were 3 lgd's on duty he never had a chance.

Anyways, last week I was trimming hooves and a young one very boldly ran right up to the fence, staring at my dogs going balistic. Okay, it's young and trying to figure out what those dogs are doin. No harm.

Well today, I was giving annual shots to the does, and the mother came around the wood area, ran along the fence, stopped, teased dogs through the fence, ran 5 feet, stopped & teased the dogs, and did it a third time! I was just 15-20 feet away from her inside the pen!

I decided to teach her a lesson, opened the gate & let my male out. I think she was just a bit surprised! I didn't REALLY want him to kill her, but hey gotta give the dogs some satisfaction. Lucky for her she made it under the trailer, where my male couldn't get her, then she snuck out the other side from him & took off.

Humph! Bold little buggers they are.

Around here the fox and coyotes have become pretty bold. Hopefully, she learned her lesson.

nope they may be pretty and fun to watch out in the "wild" but when they come onto the farm they are no longer pretty or fun to watch, the dogs have full right to dispatch any varmit caught tresspassing,

Those are some smart foxes...probably trying to detect some kind of weakness in your organic "force field". While I do LOVE foxes and watching them, we have so many troubles with rabies and last year was SUCH a bad year for rabid foxes attacking people, that I am leery now when I see them.
