I feel so sad

I'm whining, I realize this. We took my girls to be bred today. I'm goatless for a few weeks. I hate not hearing them when I walk outside, or seeing them at the corner by the gate waiting for me to bring them their pine browse. I miss them already.

The upside--I get kids next year (after my own baby arrives)!!! I'm so excited to expand our herd! I'm really hoping to get one doeling out of each of my girls. I think I'm most excited at the prospect of getting a Saanen/Alpine cross doeling though. Plus, with two goats in milk, I'll be experimenting with cheese making!:banana02:

Shame on you for scaring us like that!!! ! I was worried something had happened to them.

I owuld love to try to breed my little pygmy just because, as a pet, but with my luck, anything that CAN go wrong with the kidding, will!!

I think you need to get more goats, then you can alternate those going to be bred.

I promise, I didn't mean to scare anyone. What's funny is that my husband admitted to missing "my goats." LOL. My girls got upset until we assured them that we would be going back to get them. Our goats are part of our family now.

Oh, I know. Trust me, I know each "maa" belonging to each goat as well as I know each whinny of the horses, each bark of the dogs...oh, and of course my daughter's voice out of any crowd of kids!

Happy Farmer- I just need to convince DH to build a buck pen so we can breed our own. I can keep more goats if I don't need to haul them anywhere.

This is why I am so glad we ended up with BigWig. Its so much easier when you have your own buck. I couldn't stand for our girls to be gone.

miss tease?

Hi Mary,

How's miss Tease doing? We have 3 new saanen herd sires up here now. I'm breeding Tease's sister Shady and her dam Pagan to *B Kickadee Hill Abraham, and going to breed the little girls to Kickadee Hills AR Louie Louie, and some to Whey-to-go Eins Tyne.
Breeding is an exciting time
Sherrie

Sherrie,

Tease is a FANTASTIC milker. She is a dream on the milk stand, and I can't wait to see how she freshens next year. DH and I were just on your website, thinking a buck out of Whey to Go Alabaster Stone and Kickadee Hills AR Louie Louie might make a great buck for our farm. Tease has turned us into Saanen fanatics.

I'm so glad you still like her.
Louie, is going to be a heck of an udder buck I hope : ), and Stoney is such a Love! You gotta love those saanens! Remember Tease had Triplets as a first freshener. I've never had a first freshening saanen have triplets before. I wonder what she'll have next spring?

I just want one doeling out of her. If I can get just one doeling, I will be sooooo happy. Two would be icing on the cake
