Lock Down on the Nelson Homestead

And they are not happy! We sprayed the pastures yesterday with weed killer so it's lock down for 7 days. It's going to be a long week...

Oh, they look HORRIBLY distraught! Comfort yourself by thinking "They may not be happy, but they're SAFE."

Mine look at me that way even if they are standing in a lush pasture. They just KNOW that I have a treat for them.

Just wondering...

Why did you spray weed killer when you have goats? Seems to me like they'd eat the weeds... ?

I would need more goats. These 3 hardly put a dent into 10 acres. And we are after a certain kind of weed that the goats are not interested in. You know how it goes...what you want them to eat they won't, what you don't want them to eat they will

I guess I'm confused as to why you didn't just get more goats.

I know! That confuses me too.
Since all my critters are pets I have to watch the population. Every time I add to the family, a little piece of attention gets taken from everyone else. That is what keeps me from adding on It's very difficult sometimes!!

That's terribly sad! I totally agree that you ought to go give them treats and at least hug on them. And you need about a dozen goats staring through the wire prison, not just three!

I'm calling GPS (Goat Protective Services)! According to those accusing faces, you are obviously an Unfit Mother.

Poor little things, you can tell they don't understand at all! Are they holloring & carrying on?

I am taking them for a long walk in the woods every day. They are crying at me whenever they see me but other than that they are pretty quiet. They refuse...REFUSE! To eat anything in their pen or anything brought to them like tree branches/leaves. They love the alfalfa they get before bed..I tossed them 1/2 a flake in their outside pen and they wouldn't touch it. Hrmf. It's only Monday..we have a ways to go yet.
Don't call GPS on me yet! LOL!!

I thought prisoners wore orange jumpsuits with numbers on the back? How come these aren't properly attired?

I have 11 goats and when they are out in the pasture you can't even see them for the weeds. Oh well, there'll be more in the spring. LOL
