My goats gave me a present for my bday!

A $150 vet bill, over half of them have pneumonia all where vaccinated but it can still happen.
Now, let me tell you where I went on stupid. I traded some of my boers for a few of the nigerians I have here now, the guy got his nigerians from the same guy i got mine from and never had any other goats, never showed or anything. So Im in the process of buying some goats for a guy and asked this guy if he wanted to sell me back my boers and he said yes, he had actually planned on putting them in the market bulletin. So thinking ok, my goats came from there, only my goats went to there, I shouldnt have to quarantine because we have already shared everything between our farms.
The goats I brought here where sick two days later and its just went through the herd quickly, only my older adult does are not sick, leaving 5 out of 15 not sick.
Hopefully some one will take heed and take quarantining more seriously no matter what now I will

Happy Birthday! But so sorry your goats are sick I vaccinate for pneumonia too. It's a bummer when you do things for prevention and it still doesn't work. I'm curious to know the symptoms and how you are treating it??

Oh no. Did they pass it around in the pasture, or were they confined to a barn or pen in close quarters when they passed it around?

No regina is one of the ones that got lucky, however the two nubians are very sick, one was sicker than the rest (promoting the vet visit). I have a smaller pasture about an acre and in the summer months we have an open side barn for good ventilation. They where sickish before the cool weather and I just think that put them over the edge.
The poor goats this morning sticking them with the antibiotics, some it didnt phase the others would stomp and flop over kicking out there legs like they where being ate, one almost acted like he fainted for a moment but all is well and a little less snotty around here now.
