Well, I've joined the crowd
Two wethers, named Zedd and Merlin (Merlin is the smaller one with the beard lol ) for brush clearing, and to see if I really do want to have dairy goats. So far yes, I want more!!! I thought it would be good to enter into this without having to worry about milking, breeding, etc right off.
Anyway here they are, they are Alpine/Kiko cross. Sweet little devils too, they already know what my pruning shears mean lol. This picture makes them look distorted for some reason, like their heads are too big lol they both look like they are smiling for the camera
Im really enjoying them!

My sentiments exactly! They look very happy & I think starting with the 2 wethers is a good place to start & learn. You can always get a bred doe next year.

You will LOVE them.
Mine greet me every day with goofy antics, and the one gives me a thorough bath-(death by licking)- every time I go down to the pen.
I must warn you, behind those sweet faces and funny antics lies true terror. I suspect that Smokey was distracting me by giving me goatie kisses, when in reality, I found he had untied my shoe laces and was hoping for a face plant. If he had opposable thumbs, I suspect he would have tied my shoes together.
Someone on here gave mea hint: raisins. They said raisins were goat crack, and they were so right. But if you give raisins and drop some in the pen, leave them there...they might not be what you think they are if you go to pick them up .

I will warn you, though, that in two months, you will be scanning goat ads looking for a bred doe or a doe in milk.

they like to go for walks with me and the dog, the dog thinks he is a goat now, and when they eat brush he goes over and pulls off a twig and chews on it lol
They're twins, is it unusual for one twin to be so much smaller than the other?

Shygal, Congrats!!!
They do look mischievous. I hope that you enjoy your new adventure in goats as much as I enjoy goat-herding. When I milk, the issues of the world and negativity melt away. Here's hoping that you find that milker real soon.

Congrats on the new babies! They are a joy to own-with the good and the bad. It seems that I have read here on the board that one must own 10 goats. Now I am not "quoting" anyone in particular but that is what I have read! So-the next ones are the does. OR an intact buck would also qualify in the numbers. But-the rule is also NO uneven numbers! So goats MUST be bought in multiples of two. Just in case one gets lonely or there are siblings. LOL
