Vaccinations & Worming...

I am new to the goat world I had a buck that passed away exactly 1 week before his mate kidded. Very heart breaking for me as he was attacked by a neighbors dogs. Needlesstosay the state is investigating his dogs because there have been numerous complaints and he replaced my goat with a nigerian dwarf buck. My female that kidded I am unsure of when she should be vaccinated and wormed what is safe as she is feeding our little buck. When is the best time to worm and vaccinate a kid as we are probably going to plan on having him be a wether. He'll be a week old tomorrow so any help will be appreciated. On the weight tapes would I use the same on my Nigerian Dwarf. All this stuff is new to me and I look forward to all advice given.

I always worm my doe's the day they kid & then again 7-10 days later so I would definately do yours now, also worm the new buck at the same time. He should have probly been done when you got him.

For kids I do a cocci treatment at 3, 6 & 9 weeks of age with Di-Methox & then I worm them at 9 weeks with safeguard & at 12 weeks with Cydectin.

Your doe could have had her CD & T shot 3 weeks before she kidded. If your not sure if the buck or doe have ever had a CD & T shot then I would give both of them their shot & again in 21 days.
The kids I give their shots at 6 & 9 weeks usually.

That is just how I do it most of the time. Some folks do things differently I'm sure too.
