Goats and Hogs

Is it ok to put a couple of goats in the same pen/shelter as a couple of pigs? I dont have either yet but just trying to plan things for next year.

I would like to get a couple of minature type goats for milk and a couple pigs to raise for meat. They would all be together in the same pen (about 60'x80' pen) and a small barn.

Will the hogs turn on the goats as they get bigger?

I'm no pig expert but I've had a few. I definitely would not put them together. Pigs need an environment where they can stay cool which means mud and water to wallow in. Pig manure is sloppy and messy. Goats need a drier and cleaner place to live where parasites have a harder time taking hold. And I do believe a pig could kill and eat a miniature goat if it took the notion.

Yup, you'd be feeding the poor goat to the piggies.

Also they eat two Totally different feed stuffs. The pig food would kill a goat.

Someone asked the same question not too long ago.

Me, I would not do it. Too chancy with the pigs - they could put a serious hurt on the goats and not even intend to do it.

And then there are times when they could put a serious hurt on the goat and seriously intend to do it.
