I almost wonder if there isn't more to the story.

It's sad that gentleman was attacked, but sad also that buck has probably sired many offspring to continue the aggressive lines.

I'm glad it wasn't Gretta!

Years ago I took my doe to be bred at Apple Valley Nubians a goat farm in the area at the time and she had a buck that got out and she was hostage in her house. He wanted to kill her. She had no alternative but to shoot him. Some bucks can be super dangerous.

I had a fb Kiko buck I took to the sale because he hated me. He was a sweet heart till he turned 2. No point in keeping a mean buck when there are so many nice ones out there.

That's so tragic. Billys can get nasty as they age, and this was a stranger to him. It's too bad.

Yikes! I was visiting a horse ranch the other day that had a goat. Well seems the goat bucked the dog and took off a lot of skin, almost down to the skull. Vet cleaned him up but I think they were going to eat the goat that night. :P

That's too bad that poor old man was hurt so bad. If that were my goat he'd be dead. I don't know why folks keep a buck when they are that aggressive, stranger or not he is probly somewhat the same with his owner too.

Yikes! Chris, I'm sure when you say you took him to the sale you meant he was sold for meat... But it's frightening how many people will sell a mean animal to someone to "get rid of a problem." They don't think about the damage it could do in an unsuspecting home. Or, even worse, they just don't care - out of sight out of mind?

Any mean goat (or chicken or turkey) won't make it to sundown round here. We like our home raised meat. I have been very lucky to never have a mean goat or turkey though. Roosters are another story - my kids always say they may be BAD roosters but they sure do taste GOOD!

I had a buck turn on me once. I shot him, then and there. Don't put up with mean.
