Question Something is wrong with my boys eye.. Help!!!

I have 5 month old buck... I have noticed that his eyelids are like puffy, his eyes other wise look fine .... can anyone tell me what is wrong... He is eating and drinking walking around just fine... seems to be real mellow... (but has been his personality) I have taken some pictures.. if anyone can help it will be great...or I will take him to the vet tomorrow... if I can not figure out what is wrong

The benadryl should work. What does he weigh?

Check his eye lids for color (pull down and look at the inner lid). If they are white or veru light pink he is in serious danger from worm overload or Cocci causing anemia. This will also cause head/eyelid swelling. A fecal from the vet or at home can tell you the answer.

You dewormed him with what and how much?

Did you check the color of his inside lower eyelids? If so, what did you see?

Did you take a fecal sample to the vet for testing?

Eyelids pale pink = severely anaemic.

Quest dose is 1cc per 100 pounds. Did you get the dose right? I don't know what kind of goat he is.

If not, re-dose.

He needs Red Cell so he has nutrients to rebuild his blood. You get that at the feed store.

Get the Red Cell, which is probably in the horse department. It's a thick nutrient rich liquid. B-12 is NOT going to help anaemia.

High dose for a week or so..... then taper off.

Just to help you worry a bit less, I have an elderly doe who has chronically pale eyelids.

If he's up and moving around, eating, drinking, peeing, pooing, then he's not in baaaad trouble.

Huggs,
Alice

I know in humans that it takes about 21 days to build a blood cell. Keep up with him.

I dont have any advice but I just wanted to say I hope he feels better soon, I know how scary it feels when they are sick it feels like the time frame to get them well is so short so everything feels so urgent.Praying he feels better soon.
