Down doe!

ok really looking for help here(am also working with a vet)
In conjunction with my thread below....

I have a 4 yr old nubian doe that has 2 1/2 week old triplets that have been sick with loss of appetite, and diareah for several days. One died, and other 2 are with vet right now getting fluids. I took doe in yesterday to vet for fecal (she has lots of small strongyles) and also mastitis. I think her symptoms started prior to being wormed (strongid) and getting penicillin.

This morning she was stumbling pretty bad... her hind end is not working very well, and very stiff in front, then she went down, and is down now and cannont get up, tounge hanging out of mouth.

Before that she was standing with her back hunched and head up in air staring up at sky...

I have calls in to 2 local goat breeders, as well as vet who will be calling A&M this morning but does anyone have any ideas right now?? or anything else I should be doing?

Sounds a lot like Goat polio. . .now that doesn't seem to have anything to do with the first symptoms you rescribe, but next stuff, it just sounds like what my buck went through.

Our vet gave banamine and thiamine - and then dex after that with the thiamine for 5 days after or until symptoms go away. You need the RX thiamine.

The head up in the air is the real clencher that it is likely polio.

Be sure you get a bottle of Thiamine to keep in the fridge. It's one of those essential things.
