Doeling size verses Dam size

Doeling size verses Dam size - Goats

That is Claire (2 yrs old) on the left with her doelings who were born Feb. 7th.

I am sure they will be larger than her, by far, when grown. . .

Wouldn't you say?

Also, here is a cute pic from today of
Willow, our Pygmy buck - for the heck of it

They're big!!! I would think it is quite possible that they will be bigger than her. Was the buck a lot bigger?

My gosh! Those girls are just four months old??? Sure looks to me like they are going to be BIG GIRLS. (And gorgeous, to boot!) Is their sire a big boy?

Genetics and management will make all of difference here.

If the sire is from a tall line, more likely that the daughters will be bigger than their dam. And if they are being wormed, preventatively treated for cocci, feed quality feed, etc, they can grow to their full potential.

Is their dam a goat you raised yourself or was she a purchase?

I purchased her last year as a dry yearling from an organic based farm in Ohio.
She is small. She weighs about 110-115 lbs.
The sire is tall:

I hope they are a lot larger than the dam.

They have been on excellent feed plus medicated pellets, full browse during the day, and treated with Sulmet for cocci.

Is the dam registered? If not, she might be a cross with a small breed.

Yes, she is ADGA. Her 1/2 sister (same dam, different buck) is small, too.
