Selling my first goats

I am selling two of this years wethers. They are going to a man that has bought some alpacas from us and I know he takes good care of his animals. I know this needs to be done, but I still don't like it one bit

It's hard the first time you have to do it, but it gets easier. I recently sold two three year old milkers and there are times I reallly miss them, but know they went to a good home that needs the milk. If I kept all the goats that are born here, I'd be overrun with goats and couldn't afford to care for them all. Most all of the male goats born here are sold, many of them for meat. It helps that I don't usually name bucklings and don't handle them as much as doe kids. Their dams usually raise them so I don't get attached, or they are sold really young to 4H kids looking for bottle babies.

It is really hard. I was going to be reasonable and only keep 1 of Sugar's babies, but keeping both of them now. The first goat live births on my little farm.
