pics of the newest kids - Goats

Triplets, two girls and a buck. The buck is the flashy one. He's even got a moonspot, which I've never even heard of in miniatures.

The doelings both look the same:

The buckling - big 'ol moonspot on his leg, white belly band, and he's a black and tan sundgau.

Sorry they're all standing funny... pictures aren't great either as my camera phone doesn't do well in low light situations.

Cute kids! Since Nigerians come with moon spots (and blue eyes) mini's sometimes end up with those too.

These aren't nigie/full size cross 'minis'... These are a mixed background goat that are supposedly mainly pygmy. As far as I know there's little nigie in their background... though I suppose it's possible way back in the line. They don't have many characteristics that say nigie - they're meat-type, so I'm thinking the mostly pygmy background is accurate. Plus I've seen most of their parent stock and while they weren't registered, they were mostly distinctly pygmy, lol. They could still have been crosses, sure. I'm pretty sure, actually, that their sire/grandsire's dam was a nigie. Odd that the moonspot would just pop up - usually the 'pygmy' markings are super dominant with crosses of any sort. Not that I'm complaining! I do wish it was on a doeling though.

They are all adorable! We had a set of twin bucklings that wer almost all black this year & no black goats on our farm anywhere. There Nigerians so they are always a surprise color but never had any all so black before. I Love the black one's though.
