Long Overdo pictures and pics of weeken fun-pic heavy

OK since my computer is so slow I have to make it worth while.

This is Liam with his baby goat "Princess", we were going to register her M&L H.E Devil Woman but now I am not sure it is a toss up between Devil Woman or Tahitian Moon. Either way we have decided to keep her instead of one of the older amanchas born in March. We love the blood lines, her dams udder is gorgeous for a yearling and she is absolutely silly. She barges her way into the house like a dog and makes herself right at home.

This past holiday weekend my husband had to work all weekend so the kids and I decided it would be perfect to take a day and go for a hike in Castlewood Canyon State Park. We loaded Terk, the tog wether, and Kiwi, the F1 minimancha, who had a c-section in March and was spayed. We loaded up our packs with cold fried chicken and snacks and a lot of water and went for about a 6 mile hike, played in the Cherry Creek with the little fish, crawdads, frogs and tad poles. We also had to watch for rattle snakes, which thankfully we didn't see any but we did see lizards. We also answered alot of questions about why we pack on goats, if they are pets etc.

The start of the hike, this is Terk (don't call him fat, it makes him sad so we say fluffy)

This is Mal and Liam at the beginning of the hike with Kiwi:

Terk LOVES the water...he actually swims...

This was Kiwi's first hike and first experience with water, she was not immpressed. Eventually she got used to it.

Taking a rest on a rock, she loved bouncing from rock to rock to rock.

Kiwi in her pink pack...I think she is just adorable!

The happy hikers! We had a great time and can't wait to go again.

Kim both were bottle raised. We bought Terk at a month old and Kiwi was born here.

Our plans are to buy big panniers and take a real packing trip when Mallory graduates high school, in 2013.

Nehi the little day packs we use now are from Pet Smart. They are dog packs. Terks is made so that one of the cinches can go around his butt, this helps stabilize the pack so it doesn't slip side to side. Kiwi's isn't made like Terk's so I need to get some cinch material and make a strap to go around her bottom.

Regular panniers and the saddle can be bought from Hoeggers or Caprine Supply but you can also order the from places like High Uinta Pack Goats.

Thanks, Shi. I noted the name "Outward Hounds" on the side of one of the packs, and googled it. Found lots of sources. Thanks again!

I thought the earless thing was dominant too but both her and her sister had ears and we only had one buck.
