Smaller tip for disbudding?

I have an X30 Rhinehart disbudder. I've used them to disbud all our Saanen & Saanen x Nigerian crosses with success.

We just kidded a doeling. Her dam is 1/2 Saanen & 1/2 Nigerian & her sire was a Nigerian, so she's smaller than her mother was (which we disbudded successfully before).

Can I still use the X30 on the kid? I noticed that the X50 has a smaller tip attachment for Nigerians, but not available for the X30.

For those of you who disbud smaller kids / Nigerians, have any of you used the X30 with success?

Thanks!

I use my Rhinehart X50 with the regular goat tip for my Nigerians - same size as the X30 I believe. I think if I used anything smaller, I'd get scurs by missing some of the base.

Most people use the X30 for small and large kids.

The 'pygmy' tips are a waste of money, IMO. I bought one early on and was so suprised at how TINY it was. I never used it for fear of scurs on the kids, it's so tiny. The normal tip size for the x30 or the 'goat tip' for the x50 are the right size for all kids. Even my 1lb 11 oz miniature goat runt, but she gets to put off disbudding for a week or so.
